A softener removes calcium and magnesium from the water and replaces it with sodium. This gives the water a slippery feeling that can linger in the shower or on your hands. The whole system is approximately 9 inches wide by 18 inches tall. You only need about that much space, plus enough overhead to change out the filters. With our flex hoses in place, you can flex the system into even smaller spaces and still be able to replace the filters easily.
